8.  The following questions will allow the admissions committee to learn more about you.   When preparing these essays, please note that the committee values clear, concise responses.  Essays should be typed double-spaced and should not exceed the word limits given below.
 

Chicago 8 a - (All Applicants)
Why are you seeking an MBA or IMBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business? What do you hope to experience and contribute? What are your plans and goals after you receive your degree?  (750 words maximum)

Chicago 8 b - (All Applicants)
Your boss has given you the opportunity to write your own annual review.  Knowing that your boss wants you to provide an unbiased appraisal, please provide an evaluation of your strengths and weaknesses.  List your accomplishments and provide a plan to address areas of improvement.  (300 words maximum)

Chicago 8 c - (All Applicants)
If you were a character in a book, who would it be and why?  What do you admire most about this character, and how does it relate to you personally and/or professionally?  (300 words maximum)

Chicago 8 d - (IMBA Applicants Only)
Describe a recent international issue or event that has had a negative effect on the business or economic climate of a particular region of the world.  How would you address this issue?  What are the implications of your approach?  (750 words maximum)

Chicago 8 e - (All Applicants)
If there is further information that you believe would be helpful to the admissions committee, please feel free to provide it.
